Africa’s young population is one of its greatest opportunities to transform how food is grown, produced, processed and distributed. But are young people getting a real opportunity to shape the future of Africa’s food systems?
The YAPI Index Dialogue: Africa, Youth & Agrifood Systems will explore the Youth in Agrifood Systems Performance Index (YAPI), developed through an African Union framework to understand and measure youth participation in Africa’s agrifood systems.
The conversation will examine youth participation, opportunities, barriers and what needs to change to create better policies, investments, skills, technology and support for young people across the agrifood value chain.
The dialogue is relevant to young Africans, entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors and anyone interested in the future of Africa’s food systems.
